Article submission is a time honored strategy for improving traffic.  It has been popular since the conception of the Internet and is still an effective traffic generation tactic even in our high tech times.

There are a number of questions over the simplest method of submitting articles for maximum traffic and effectiveness.  Which are the most effective methods?

To start with, you can submit your articles to the mother of all article directories, EzineArticles.  It has built a well earned reputation of being the best in town.  It has won over marketers and Google because of this.

Some marketers get very irritated due to the overly complex submission guidelines and long time it can take for approval.

However, if you adhere to their policies, it is straightforward to get your articles approved.

When your article are accepted by EzineArticles you instantly get benefits from it.  Articles in this directory often rank very well in Google, even without any backlinks pointing at them.

Throw in a few backlinks and you will find your articles ranking well for chosen keywords.  Repeatedly your articles will rank well just for being on EzineArticles.

When your article has been published you must do some straightforward backlinking to it to give it a boost up the search engines.

First of all, take your EzineArticle author RSS feed and submit it to RSS directories.  You can do it by hand or acquire a tool to do it for you.  Just select the top ten directories in Google for now if you are doing it manually.  You can always submit to more later on, so make sure you keep track of which ones you have added your feed to.

You can ping your article at one of the many ping sites.  You will give EzineArticles some benefit, but it will also help your article.

It isn’t worth it submitting articles by hand to any more directories except the top half a dozen best known ones.  Most of the rest get minimal traffic it is not worthwhile, except for the backlink.  So you should make sure these submissions are outsourced or automated.

If you are using articles then you need to make sure they are on Ezinearticles for maximum visitors.  With a bit of backlinking to your article and you will easily find your articles ranking well for their keywords and bringing you good traffic.
